We like InVision the most for its management feature of project feedback. InVision is considered to be the most popular tool for prototyping interactive user interfaces in the world. InVision - another tool to create a mobile app prototype With this service, you will easily create your Android, W8 or iOS prototype. There are many interface elements available with Fluid UI. Its features for prototyping apps are pretty comfortable, and it has more drag and drop functions than any other tool. It allows you to create screens at the first onset. However, it is not a bad thing because most applications don’t need any overloaded and overdone features at the stage of prototyping. It seems a little bit more “unfinished” than Proto.io. It helps to export the screen flows, share, and collaborate with the other people.įluid UI is an editor that allows you construct the elements and mix them the way you like. This service allows building multi-screen prototypes connected to each other. The first great thing about it is that it enables collaboration and iteration between the members of the team. The fluid is a great HTML5 interface prototyping service that allows users to create prototypes rapidly by using pre-built widgets and arranging them into a drag-and-drop editor. Fluid UI has prestigious clients like Samsung, Google, eBay and NASA and offers great features that differentiate these services from others. Fluid UI can be used for dynamic mobile application prototypes for iOS and Android. It is used to craft easy and fast design of mobile touch interfaces. It is a browser-based prototyping and wireframing tool created by Fluid Software. Creating a mobile prototype with Fluid UIįluid UI is another alternative for creating prototype mobile apps. Take some time to explore interface, the rest will depend on your ideas and creativity. In fact, you can easily learn it by just fiddling around than following tutorials. Interface is rather simple and intuitive. You can start with a blank template or project and create your way to a final version of a prototype. If this is not enough for you and you want to have your design under a full control, you can customize your mobile app prototype. You can add images, buttons, and text, as well as links to the other screens. The elements could be easily dragged and dropped onto the screen. Even if you are not a Photoshop designer, you will be able to create nice prototypes with it. The other great thing about Proto is that its tools are easy to use. Other similar tools allow doing this on a mobile browser only. It is a helpful tool that can improve the way you present an application.įor an average user, it means that they have an opportunity to edit a prototype quickly and view it as a mobile app. Proto.io player allows users to test application prototypes for iOS and Android. This service does not require coding and utilizes a convenient user interface.įor several years, Proto.io has been creating tools for prototyping mobile apps and solutions. Initially designed for mobile device prototyping, Proto.io has extended to provide prototype applications for every item with a screen interface like digital camera interfaces, Smart TV’s, airplanes, cars, and gaming consoles. It was developed by the Labs Division of SNQ Digital and launched in 2011. Proto.io is a platform designed for app prototyping. In this article, we will consider the best prototyping tools and their main features. However, now you probably want to strive for something a bit higher and find the best app prototyping tools.įortunately, there are prototyping tools for mobile app that allow an easy way of creating app prototype. When we were high school students, such presentations were funny. It is really chaotic when you are pitching your application in front of the public and say something like “imagine how the toolbar is now swooshing in front the top of the screen” while desperately waving your hands and trying to imitate the gestures of a touch. Creating application interface with responsive mobile technologies is not effective and mostly demands hundreds of lines of a JavaScript code and depicting touch gestures with annotations. You would have to look at using media queries to reduce the font-size at certain intervals where it starts breaking your design and creating scrollbars.Mobile app prototyping has always been a great pain for designers and developers. Instead they respond to the browser zoom/type size settings, such as if you press Ctrl and + together on the keyboard while in the browser. The font-size won't respond like this when resizing the browser window. Unlike floor 11, there's no stringent elemental requirement here, though Pyro would be helpful in defeating the ice 'churl gang in chamber two. In order for the IoT to scale to the level of a city or a traffic system, these millions of transactions would need to be unencumbered by the fees inherent to nearly all public blockchains currently in existence. These principles have positioned IOTA to become a standardized network protocol for applications like the Internet of Things, in which “transactions” can involve something as small as one tiny sensor in a vehicle. Scalability and fee-less transactions remain the guiding principles behind most of the developments at IOTA. IOTA’s founders saw an opportunity for a technology that could scale to the level of enterprise and civic projects while simultaneously reducing or eliminating the fees associated with blockchain transactions. The IOTA Foundation was founded in 2015 to address some universally perceived shortcomings of blockchain technology. Although tiny transactions are not the only thing that the Tangle can facilitate, the ability to scale from tiny machine sensors to the largest networks of civic architecture is a distinguishing feature of the IOTA ledger. The name was chosen by the IOTA Foundation because the Internet of Things will consist of billions of tiny transactions and exchanges per day. The word iota refers to the Greek letter Iota and its contemporary definition, meaning a minuscule amount of something. The IOTA Foundation’s Board of Directors includes Dominik Schiener, Dr. The Foundation believes the machine economy should be built on a feeless protocol, be scalable and ecologically friendly, and allow for a low-energy exchange of value and information. The founding principles of the IOTA Foundation revolve around open-source and community-centered ethics. This new form of exchange is what we call the “machine economy.” Applications in e-commerce or for human-to-human purposes, however, can still be provided for with a fee-less cryptocurrency like IOTA. This evolution of value and data exchange will optimize manufacturing, supply chains, civic engineering, transportation, finance and other industries. As the internet evolves and more aspects of our world become digitally connected, the Foundation aims to use the IOTA protocol to enable a new form of value exchange and establish a web of trust between devices and people, as well as between the devices (“things”) themselves. When films are edited for daytime/nighttime TV, broadcasters may prefer not to bleep swearing, but cut out the segment containing it, replace the speech with different words, or cover it with silence or a sound effect. Other uses of bleeping may include reality television, infomercials, game shows and daytime/late night talk shows, where the bleep conceals personally identifying information such as ages, surnames, addresses/hometowns, phone numbers, and attempts to advertise a personal business without advanced or appropriate notice, in order to maintain the subject's privacy (as seen for subjects arrested in episodes of Traffic Cops or COPS). In the case of comedies, most bleeping may be for humorous purposes, and other sound effects may be substituted for the bleep tone for comical effect, examples of which include a slide whistle, a baby’s cooing, dolphin noises, or a spring "boing". For example, in Discovery Channel, bleeping is extremely common and is commonly used. – since scripted drama and comedy are designed to suit the time of broadcast. īleeping is normally only used in unscripted programs – documentaries, radio features, panel games etc. Sometimes, a " black bar" can be seen for closed caption bleep. Occasionally, bleeping is not reflected in the captions, allowing the unedited dialogue to be seen. Where open captions are used (generally in instances where the speaker is not easily understood), a blank is used where the word is bleeped. Censor boxes, such as the one above, may be used along with the bleeps to prevent the audience from lip reading the swearer's words. Their goal is to impact how the company operates in the area - but many see the lawsuit as an uphill battle. Several groups are now suing the Federal Aviation Administration and SpaceX, demanding more mitigation to reduce environmental damage. Working-class residents feel pushed out by surging property taxes and higher home and rental prices.Įnvironmental activists also worry about turning this treasured part of the Texas coastline - known for its birdwatching, fishing and clean beaches - into an industrial space complex. While some tout the potential economic boom and job opportunities that SpaceX has brought to the broader Rio Grande Valley, along with the millions of dollars that Musk has pledged to Cameron County, others fear the risk is too great. The environmental impact of SpaceX in this corner of Texas is part of a growing debate among locals over the presence of Elon Musk’s massive company. This is interesting from a scientific perspective, but it’s almost certainly bad for these birds.” “But as soon as this disturbance comes - (another) massive rocket launch - it’s bad news. “The little pebbles (small pieces of debris) are providing them habitat,” he said, then pointed to the launch site just a few hundred feet away. Remarkably, the snowy plovers were adapting and using the debris field as a new habitat.īut to LeClaire, it was a scary realization. He counted seven nests constructed among the rubble, the birds’ earth-tone eggs matching the color of the rusted and charred remnants of the launchpad. When walking around the area in early June, LeClaire, who works with the Coastal Bend Bays & Estuaries Program, was shocked to find several snowy plovers back in the area and nesting in that debris. SpaceX’s controversial launch - and subsequent explosion - of Starship, the most powerful rocket ever built, blasted scattered debris up to the size of small boulders all across the delicate ecosystem around the launchpad in April. The launch tower juts out of pristine Boca Chica State Park like a futuristic steeple that can be seen from more than 5 miles (8 kilometers) away on a clear day. The bird was a snowy plover, LeClaire said, a species that’s rapidly declined in the area over the past five years since SpaceX started actively testing and launching rockets there. “Which likely means it has a nest out here.” “We’ve got a bird that’s acting really distressed,” said the wildlife biologist, stopping in his tracks and quickly peering through his binoculars. With the towering SpaceX launch site behind him, Justin LeClaire spotted something astonishing in a grassy, sandflat mosaic of protected wilderness on the southern tip of Texas, near the Gulf of Mexico. I kept a sling on my rifle during the war, but I never used the sling to shoot in combat.īest I remember they didn’t give us much practice shooting. I don’t even remember if I used it or not. I don’t remember if we were required to use the sling when firing or not. The sling does make it steadier while target shooting. And they taught us how to shoot with the sling wrapped around our arm. They taught us to shoot from the prone position, the kneeling position and the standing position. I always gripped it with my hand so I had more control of the trigger pull. One thing they taught us, was instead of putting your right hand around the stock over the trigger, they wanted you to stick your right thumb out to the right and let it lay along the stock. It took a while to get used to using the six o’clock hold. All my life, when shooting a rifle, I’d been used to putting the sight post on the center of a target. The ideal thing was to get a triangular pattern from your marks on the paper.įor the sight picture on the M1, you put your sight post on the bottom of the target, a six o’clock hold. Then you say “up” or “down” and he’d move it up or down until he got it right and you’d say “mark.” You’d do that three times and then he would check the paper. He would move it real slow and when he got it where you wanted, you’d say, “stop” and he’d stop. The one doing the sighting would say “left” and the other guy would holler for the guy on the box to move the disk left. His job was to tell the other guy which way to move the disk. The third guy, would be beside the guy doing the sighting, was kind of his helper. And he would take a pencil and mark in the center of that disk in the hole, on a piece of paper that was tacked to the box he was sitting on. When you thought you had the disk dead on you would tell him to mark it. From then on he would sight the rifle without touching it and the guy on the box would move that little disk around. He wouldn’t touch the rifle he just had it pointing at the box. As for The other two guys, the one that was doing the dry firing would be lying on the ground and he’d have the rifle laying across a sand bag. He had a little round disk on a stick and that disk had a hole in the center of it. We had a little stool like box and one person would sit on that, I guess maybe twenty yards away, not very far. It usually took three people for one person to dry fire. We took turns practicing aiming and dry firing. We spent about a week there doing rifle training. I’m not sure, but I believe the targets were set up at 100 and 300 yards. They had a good firing range there, a known distance type range. I guess it was 10 to 15 miles from Toccoa we walked over there. But, we didn’t do it on the Toccoa base, we went over to, I believe Clemson College. We did dry firing at Toccoa and we also did our qualifying there. They were brand new M1 rifles and we had to clean the cosmoline off of those too. We were issued rifles within the first week or two we were there. As we took them apart we would clean the parts and lay them out so we could put them back together. We had a Sergeant there watching us, but he didn’t stay around long. Of course, before that I’d never seen a machine gun. One of the first details I was on, me and two or three other guys was cleaning the cosmoline off of some machine guns. I stayed in third platoon throughout the war. When I got there they were filling third platoon and that’s the platoon I was in. They would fill up the first platoon, and then they’d start with the second platoon down through the third platoon. When I came in I was assigned to Easy Company, which is what they were filling up at the time. As we came in they would fill up the companies. The 506th was actually formed down at Toccoa. Not long after the war ended he was discharged from the Army from his home state of Virginia. He was at home on leave when the atomic bombs were dropped on Japan. Injured in a vehicle accident while in Germany, he spent time in various hospitals until being released from a military hospital in Nashville, TN in the summer of 1945. He also fought in the “Battle of the Bulge” around Bastogne and into Germany before the war ended. Powers made combat jumps with Easy Company into France on June 6th 1944 and into Holland on September 17th 1944. After intensive training in the US, the 506th moved to England and continued to train for the invasion of Europe. The Regiment became one of the three infantry regiments assigned to the 101st Airborne Division during World War Two. The story of Easy Company has been described in Stephen Ambrose’s excellent book, “Band of Brothers” and in the HBO miniseries of the same title. where he was assigned to E Company, 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment. He volunteered for the Paratroops and was sent to Camp Toccoa, GA.
